Christopher S. Sohnly
Christopher earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Landscape Architecture from Temple University in May of 2015. He has worked in Gardening and Landscaping for over 15 years in a wide range of applications.
Currently Christopher is the owner and operator of Spruce Hollow LLC, which provides garden design, installation and maintenance with a focus on native plants in Philadelphia, PA in the Mt. Doug Tallamy
Doug Tallamy is a professor in the Department of Entomology and Wildlife Ecology at the University of Delaware, where he has authored 103 research publications and has taught insect related courses for 40 years. Chief among his research goals is to better understand the many ways insects interact with plants and how such interactions determine the diversity of animal communities.

Rick Darke heads Rick Darke, LLC, a Pennsylvania-based consulting firm focused on the conservation, design and management of living landscapes.
Rick Darke
Darke teaches and lectures internationally on sustainable landscape design, planning, conservation and the ethical underpinnings of all of these. Special areas of focus include ecological and cultural landscapes of North America, deciduous woodland ecology and garden design, grasses for sustainable global gardens, Arts & Crafts period gardens, roadside/ruderal landscapes, and regenerative landscapes. On the broad topic of livable landscapes Rick has addressed audiences in North America, Canada, England, Ireland, Japan, South Africa, Australia, New Zealand, and Chile.
Rick, with his sense of aesthetics and skill in conveying the beauty inherent in natural landscapes, and I, Doug, with my interest in ecosystem function, have collaborated on The Living Landscape. We hope our collaboration will be the personification of the new balance between humans and nature that will happen right in our gardens.
